Abstract

Introduction: Nursing technicians constitute a significant portion of the healthcare workforce; therefore, academic concern with the training of these professionals is expected. Objectives: To determine academic interest in nursing technician training and its topics of interest. Materials and Methods: This is a systematic literature review conducted from January 2020 to June 2025 in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) using Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS). Results and Discussion: Fourteen studies that met the search criteria were identified and grouped into four categories: Training Itineraries, Teaching-Learning, Teacher Training, and Systematic Review. The small number of studies reveals, contrary to expectations, the limited importance given to the training of these professionals. Furthermore, recurring themes remain unresolved, such as the convergence between theory and practice and the implementation of integrated teaching. Final Considerations: Analysis of the results reveals a persistent lack of academic interest in nursing technician training.
