Syphilis is a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) that is a public health problem and has impacts on individual and collective health, with repercussions being especially serious in gestational and congenital syphilis. In most cases, gestational syphilis denotes a failure in prenatal care for the pregnant woman, both in terms of correct diagnosis and correct treatment. The functions of nursing in combating gestational and congenital syphilis go far beyond care and consultations.
