Resumo

As dificuldades em se tratar as recessões gengivais estão vinculadas aos biótipos de cada paciente. Biótipos gengivais finos estão mais sujeitos a recessão gengival, que é de etiologia multifatorial. Atualmente, existem várias técnicas e associações destas para o tratamento destas recessões. Este artigo tem o próposito de relatar as vantagens da cirúrgia periodontal no recobrimento radicular com a técnica de retalho posicionado coronalmente (RPC) associado ao enxerto de tecido conjuntivo subepitelial (ETCS) e a proteína derivada da matriz de esmalte (Emdogain,Straumann). Para isso foi utilizado revisão de literatura, valendo-se de meio eletrônico em busca livre no Bireme,Pubmed, Lilacs e Scielo. Concluiu-se que a técnica do RPC com ETCS associado ao uso do Emdogain (Straumann) oferece melhor resultado no recobrimento radicular, contribuindo na regeneração dos tecidos periodontais perdidos.
